Bernard Cribbins saves every scene her's in - although they've done him to death now so I don't need much more of him.
Obvious reply: when has that ever stopped RTD before? I'll be very surprised if we don't get oodles more 'Donna's family' scenes before the series is out.
psychologically it's a very real response, but a bit unexpected from the normally resourceful Donna.
Has she ever been completely separated from the Doctor in an entirely alien environment before? I don't think so. Not to mention the fact that just outside are lots of people who'd want to kill her. So I'd consider sitting in the TARDIS metaphorically crapping herself to be an entirely expected scenario. :)
I'm slightly more baffled by the Doctor's plan to ignite the poison gas, but that's probably because so much exposition is babbled so quickly I'm sure I missed some of it.
He used a terraforming device that Rattigan had invented for use on his promised new planet, which in some unexplained way takes all the bad stuff out of the atmosphere and replaces it with a normal atmosphere which humans can live in. Utter bobbins, in other words.
I do like his "Are you my mommy quip"
Best part of the episode, easily. You appear to have your closing quote mark in the wrong place, though. The SkybaseSHIELD UNIT helicarrier was nice too. Though if that can have laser weapons, why can't the soldiers?
Overall, it was rather refreshing not to have to keep yelling "Oh, for god's sake!" or other things along those lines at the TV. :)
