Subtle as an iBrick

It's a blizzard outside! Sadly none of it is settling on the ground. As far as I'm concerned this defeats the whole purpose of snow, which is to make the world look pretty and fresh and strange. Not just soggy.

While I'm here: Steve Jobs meets US Foreign Policy in this surprisingly amusing skit about Iraq. I say "surprisingly" because it's about as subtle as a brick, but that's part of the charm.

Lastly, I don't know why this is cool but it is: an image of Jupiter taken from the Cassini probe in orbit around Saturn (1.1 billion miles away). Now that's a zoom lens.

EDIT: Some actual snow on the ground this morning! Plenty of signs of it melting rapidly as it lands, but for the moment it's actually quite white in places.

The iRack skit is cute, but I kept being being distracted by the fact that Faux!Steve wasn't wearing a turtleneck.

I blame global warming.

Why does it only snow when I have to drive somewhere? When I should be admiring its general prettiness (and the manner in which it bemuses the cats), I have to go out and do stuff in it.

I think we should be told.

It was travel chaos around here this morning. Luckily we only live about ten minutes from work (i.e. 30 minutes this morning). A surprising amount of snow managed to stick to the ground, although a lot of it melted during the day, and we're still getting a lot of snow showers.

I read the post too quick and saw US foreign policy as being soggy.

I guess that makes for a different reading on American politics.

I think you may be on onto something.
