I DLed Bones on spec (something I don't often do). I found it to be hugely entertaining and not even remotely Angely, but the first ep should have done more to establish the suporting characters. This is rectified pretty pronto though. It is thoroughly daft hokum, but I think it is high quality thoroughly daft hokum. The hokumness may shift when they delve into the back story (which has only really be sketched to date). There is also a gentle running gag poking fun at the hip-pop-culture-awareness of modern TV characters. If you get especially desperate I could probably burn my xvids to a DVD.
As someone else says, Medium is well worth the effort. It is made entirely by the performance of the main ensemble (including the kids) rather than it's 'based on a real person' premise. It really is much better than it has any right to be.
