I know what you mean. I didn't love it and it didn't genuinely excite me. On the other hand it was fun and it always held my attention.

Deeply! However despite the stupid science there was a lot I genuinely loved in this episode - especially the Helo Tyrol stuff. The Chief is a great character and he's well-used here.

Yes, don't get me wrong - I found the episode highly enjoyable. BG as a whole tends not to push buttons - often it's so naturalistic that it's only in retrospect you see where the characterisation was headed. The story beats aren't pummelled home. Here they were, and so it felt a bit shallow, but there's something to be said for an adversary you can boo. :-)
