It's an improvement over the last two episodes, and certainly feels a lot more like the old West Wing, back to the nuts-and-bolts political manouevering with the odd humourous interlude. Obviously nothing like as witty or intelligent as it was in the Sorkin days, but what can you do? And CJ becoming chief of staff does seem odd, but then I can't imagine anyone but Leo doing it. I guess if they're just moving the regular cast around, then Donna will end up doing CJ's job, Charlie will get Donna's job (after graduating from university and thus being fired by Bartlet) and then Leo can have Charlie's job, following him around like a kindly old butler. Or they could just bring in some new people, I don't know...
