I admit that I have not watched this episode, because there were girls watching The LAst Unicorn and squeeing in my living room yesterday and I didn't dare try and claim the TV.
I'm still going to say that having CJ as Chief of Staff does not make sense. In any way. Josh and Toby are far more qualified and far more experienced in the political maneuvering and skills they will need, so using CJ is a purely dramatic choice. And once you start making things happen because they make good drama and not because they would ever actually happen in the show-verse, you are sunk, and it's but a small step from here to tragic helicopter accidents and guest-star relatives.
